Our cloth bum journey.

Today I want to talk to you about reusable nappies. After having one baby in disposables, and one in reusables, I cannot advocate for these enough! I know so many mums that have planned to go cloth, but have felt like it was all too daunting and have for various reasons ended up sticking with disposables, feeling too overwhelmed to tackle yet another new challenge. I'm here to tell you it is so worth it! I admit we had some leaks in the beginning which made laundry a nightmare, but once we had nailed the right type and fit for River, this got much better. 

For us the main perks are:

• Money saved! We have got all of our nappies second hand (even though often brand new). It can still seem expensive in one hit, but over the nappy wearing years we will save a fortune. AND we can use them for the next one too!
• Happy bum! River has had much less nappy rash than Connor did. She literally only gets sore when she is teething. 
• Less stinky! I find wet disposables give off a horrible chemical smell. Then they are sat in your bin for up to 2wks, full of poop, waiting to be taken away. We give our cloth nappies a quick rinse daily, then a proper wash every 2 or 3 days when we have a full load. 
• Check out the prints! I wish my pants were that cool!
• Obviously better for the environment too! No brainer!
